Pregnancy Signs
Even though there are a lot of general pregnancy signs that could be used to ascertain if a woman was pregnant or not, it should be noted that different women show different signs and some do not exhibit any outward signs at all. The signs should be construed only as an indicator of a possible pregnancy and should not be confirmed as a positive result. To confirm a pregnancy, use the services of a medical professional or certified pregnancy determining instruments. As said earlier, there are a lot of outward pregnancy signs but we will look at four most common pregnancy signs here.
One of the earliest pregnancy signs is a missed period. Missing a period doesn’t automatically put you in the pregnant category but it sure is a warning to look out for more signs that could indicate a pregnancy. Fatigue is another sign that could point to a pregnancy. A woman’s body releases high levels of the hormone progesterone, which causes excess tiredness but there are other factors like stress and physical exertion that could also cause fatigue. It is necessary to find out if the fatigue is due to exertion and stress first before taking a pregnancy test. Another give away sign is the feeling of wanting to urinate frequently. Pregnancy produces the hormone human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), which makes a woman want to go to the bathroom very often. A combination of all the above pregnancy signs with unnatural cravings for food means a pregnancy test is definitely needed.
