Earliest Pregnancy Test

Why is it important to take the earliest pregnancy test possible to ascertain a pregnancy? Pregnancy is a wonderful thing to happen to most mothers but some cases of unwanted pregnancies can cause too much stress and anxiety to the pregnant woman. The waiting period before the confirmation of a pregnancy can be a trying time for both, the women who would like to have a baby as well as for women who do not want to. So taking the earliest pregnancy test possible to know if one is pregnant will do away with most of the worries that unnecessarily affect an unsure woman.

The earliest pregnancy test that can be taken using a blood sample is generally between seven and twelve days after the first missed period. The earliest pregnancy test that can be taken using the urine sample of the woman will give correct results only if taken after fourteen days of the first missed period. Pregnancy is confirmed by the presence of the hormone human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) that is formed in the female body immediately after the male sperm meets the ovum. This hormone will show up in the blood and urine in the above mentioned time periods. Some sensitive home tests, which are usually expensive than a routine blood pregnancy test do give accurate results even if taken just two days after conception. However, the idea of taking the earliest pregnancy test to ascertain a pregnancy is fine as long as one does not take the test too early, as such a test might show negative results.
